Tonight, our director, Louise Tu’u, decided to head to Triple Teez Wednesday ride, Wahine on 2 Wheels, starting at Mangere BikeFIT Community Hub at Waddon Place at Mangere Town Centre. She left Ōtāhuhu and rode down Kaka, Titi and Kahu Streets, which led to James Fletcher Drive. The sun was still warm and the tailwind was very helpful, which made this part pleasant. Heading onto Favona Road, Louise decided to revisit the Forbes Road shortcut and risk the roaming dogs, who fortunately, were busy watching television or doing something else.

She chatted with a quad bike rider and some local kids who also were riding bikes before heading onto Harania Ave, Wakefield Road and then onto the lovely bike paths on Robertson Road. Arriving at Triple Teez, there were many riders already read to go, which was wonderful. The ride itself was sometimes speedy, filled with interesting conversations with different riders and always surrounded by beautiful and gentle scenery of the buildings leading to the airport, Ihumātao, which Louise had never visited before and back roads of Māngere like Ascot Road.
Fa’afetai tele lava, Meitaki ma’ata and massive thanks ia Triple Teez, Vernon, Willie, Bella, Molly and Simon for looking out and after us always.
